To our Facebook friends:
We truly appreciate your patronage in our office and our Facebook page. Without you we would not exist! It is our pleasure to provide exceptional care for your children, day or night. We take pride in being available 24/7 to answer your questions. With that in mind, we want to mention something that has been a potentially dangerous trend. We have been getting many solicitations for medical advice on our personal Facebook pages/Messenger/personal texts. While we completely understand how easy it is to just type in a few words and have instant access to your physician, we need to point out that Facebook, Messenger and personal texts are NOT secure means of communication. We have been receiving detailed requests for medical advice, sensitive pictures attached to messages, and other details in messages, that, if they fall into the wrong hands, could have difficult or even dangerous consequences. Also, this way of communication puts your doctor in a legally sensitive and even dangerous situation, because we have been told by credible legal sources that we are legally liable for any information that is hacked from our personal Facebook accounts ,Messenger, or texts, whether we asked for that information or not. PLEASE! Protect your family and your doctor by calling our office for medical advice, rather than soliciting it on Messenger or Facebook or text. If you have an emergency or need for medical advice, you can call our office and use the after-hours emergency voicemail to leave a message. You can also join Dr. Lovette’s patient portal and send messages to the nurse that way (though those messages are only answered during office hours). This is a potentially serious situation and we only wish to protect our patients and friends from any harm.
